Women In Medicine

Women in Medicine is an organization that is committed to motivating and supporting women who are interested in not only medicine, but the health-care field in general. Women have been historically underrepresented in medicine and health related fields and we wish to bring awareness of such issues through our organization. Our members will are encouraged to expand their thinking, get hands-on clinical experience, and be of help to the surrounding Philadelphia community through service. Understanding new methods of learning while also being able to receive material on how to better prepare themselves for admission to their desired graduate school will be offered as an opportunity through our organization as well. Mentoring opportunities will also be available as the mission is to encourage young girls from an early start by going to high schools in the Philadelphia area and spreading the importance of the need for women in health-related fields. WIM aspires to work alongside other local and global organizations who share the same missions primarily concerning the promotion for women in health-related fields along with health and awareness as it relates to women. Pertaining to service and community, WIM focuses on youth development and sustainability to bring awareness to health issues among teenagers.
